Join our team at ComForCare, an independently owned and operated office dedicated to providing exceptional care to the South New Jersey communities (Salem, Cumberland, Cape May). We are a Master Dementia Care Professional office and a Certified Parkinson's Care Expert office, committed to continuous training and supportive work environments. We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and engaging Companion to provide essential non-medical support to our clients.
Position Summary
As a Companion, you will provide non-medical, engaging companionship and supervision for clients in their private homes. Per New Jersey regulations, this role is strictly for companion-only services and does not include hands-on personal care tasks. Your primary goal is to enhance the client's quality of life and provide peace of mind for their family through supportive and social care.
Key Responsibilities (Non-Medical/Companionship Only)
- Provide engaging companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
- Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a tidy home environment.
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks, adhering to dietary restrictions.
- Assist with running errands and grocery shopping.
- Provide transportation for appointments and social outings.
- Offer medication reminders (not administration).
- Engage clients in stimulating activities such as hobbies, reading, puzzles, and walks.
- Observe and report any changes in the client's physical, mental, or emotional condition to the Agency Manager.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- A caring, patient, and mature demeanor with a passion for helping others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
