Compassionate Home Care Aide Needed 


Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate caregiver to provide in-home care and support for an individual with disabilities. This is a [full-time/part-time] position offering the opportunity to help someone maintain their independence and quality of life in the comfort of their own home.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
  • Support with mobility, transfers, and use of adaptive equipment
  • Provide medication reminders and administration as needed
  • Prepare meals accommodating dietary needs and restrictions
  • Light housekeeping to maintain a safe, clean living environment
  • Provide transportation to medical appointments, errands, and community activities
  • Offer companionship and encourage social interaction
  • Assist with communication and advocacy when needed
  • Support participation in therapeutic activities and exercises
  • Monitor health status and communicate changes to healthcare team
  • Maintain detailed care logs and documentation
  • Respect client's autonomy and encourage maximum independence

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous caregiving experience preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift to stabilize for transfers and perform physical tasks
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patient, kind, and empathetic personality
  • Background check and references required
Preferred:

  • CNA, HHA, PCA, or DSP certification
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Knowledge of disability rights and person-centered care principles
  • Familiarity with adaptive equipment and assistive technology
  • Training in de-escalation techniques
