Position Summary
This position is for assignment at the Roma ISD to seek proposals for its Special Education Department with the primary task to provide services for diagnosed students with special needs with the development recovery, and improvement of daily skills needed for a daily living in a school, home and social environment and to provide evaluative and therapeutic services to assigned students, consultation services to parents and or staff and submission of all required documentation. A current license to practice is required and must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working with children.
Job Description
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- To conduct evaluations utilizing various assessment instruments and techniques to determine the need for continuing special education services for students identified with a disability.
- Identify students suspected of having a disability requiring special education and related services.
- To conduct assessments, interpret scores and other data and write reports to be included in the FIE/FIIE (Full and Individual Evaluation and Individual Initial Evaluation).
- Work collaboratively with others in completing the evaluations and providing services following all federal, state, and locally mandated timelines.
- Schedule assessment sessions with staff to interpret and explain assessment results.
- Attend staff development if needed and participate in planning sessions with various stakeholders.
- Participate in the District’s SHARS Medicaid initiatives by following all guidelines and submitting all necessary documentation required.
- Interpret and explain assessment results to the Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) Committee.
- Formulate IEP (Individual Education Plan) goals and objectives, including monitoring and reporting progress.
